Fonsalade has a "mediterranean garden" which is designed to be low maintenance and comprises about one third lawned area (a lawn being a slight exaggeration in that there is some grass and then a mixture of greenery which becomes quite bare in the summer months! There are lots of interesting trees, mostly fir trees though there is an olive and an apricot tree. The garden overlooks the neighbours vineyard with Shiraz grapes growing in the area which opens up from the lawn. There are several of our own grapevines growing against the fence and also on the patio.

There is a 12 meter pool which has both a safety cover and also a shelter ("abri") which is a couple of meters high and can be pushed back easily. The abri allows the pool to be used from early April through to late October and is heated via a heat exchanger which should maintain a temperature between 25 and 30 degrees
